With the success of our previous promo animation, we decided to end 2021 on a bang with a continuation of the initial promo.
After the exciting split, a war-torn rift lays dormant as it prepares for the final battle of the year. Remnants of exciting battles embellish the rift, showing the history of fights that have been fought during the past couple of weeks. Some have triumph, and some have been defeated, but the LCS Finals is the last battleground where those striving for greatness make their final stand.
With the start of our LCS Summer Split, we have a chance to create a hype piece that will get fans excited about the season. Returning favorites, up-and-coming rookies and storylines will finally reach their end.
However this year we want to do it with a modern twist - we want to create an animated launch promo where we turn our pros into larger-than-life anime legends as they get ready for the most important climax of the season.
This was the first LCS project I led, from early conception up until the final product.
In 2018, Microsoft approached us with an idea to help in creating a unique gaming space that would reside in their massive store on 5th Avenue in New York City. The space would be located on the third floor, and feature 3 popular video game IP’s: the largest space being League of Legends. With a 10-computer setup and two life-size champion statues, it would be a small haven where visitors could experience the magic of Runeterra in everyday life.
One of my first solo projects, I was in charge of initial concepts all the way through execution of the opening day.
In one of our first activations with an external partner, we teamed up with WWE to create chaos-filled content. We took two of our most popular influencers (imaqtpie and Tyler1) and had them coach their own respective team of wresting superstars for them to go head-to-head in a gaming showdown.
My role as creative lead was to work together with WWE to come up with episode concepts, roles for all of the talent and an overall storyline. On set, I gave creative input during filming as well as the photoshoots.
A massive campaign for the 2018 League PC season. The focus was on our community and players, and we wanted to highlight some pretty crazy achievements. We took real stats from the game that real players achieved and turned them homages that ran on most social platforms. We came up with fun titles for each player and also featured their in-game name above the champion art that correlated with their achievement.
To celebrate League of Legends: Wild Rift’s launch in North America, we teamed up with Verizon to ring in the new game with an invitational featuring popular streamers, actors and influencers. The tournament was played on the unreleased iPhone 12, and focused on Verizon’s 5G network capabilities.
I helped direct creative from the Riot side, keeping a smooth through line between Verizon, Twitch, Wild Rift team and our internal brand team. From guiding the set design to mimic the nexus and turrets, to personally choosing champions for each influencer to play, I had a major hand in leveraging creative.

Part of a larger campaign we ran in 2018, we wanted to shine some light on a specific influencer in our community. One of our most popular content creators was moving back to Los Angeles after living out-of-state.
In order to welcome him back, we teamed up with a close friend and illustrator to create this mural. It lived at one of the most iconic areas of LA for about a month. We left it organic and waited until sure enough members of the community started to flood social media about the larger-than-life homage to one of their favorite influencers.
One of the first projects I worked on after joining Riot Games as an Art Director. We teamed up with Dash Studios to create an animated promo piece for the League of Legends 2018 College Championship Finals. We wanted to focus on creating stylized compositions that included key easter eggs from each college team and the champions that they played.
This animation was also included in the League of Legends client and featured on socials to promote the event.
